Tobii will provide eye tracking solutions for Develter Innovation’s award-winning driving simulators, helping to improve driving skills for both professional drivers and people with reduced mobility.
Tobii, the global leader in eye tracking and pioneer of attention computing, has secured a design win with Develter Innovation. The French based company, specialized in developing driving simulators aimed at both professional drivers and people with reduced mobility, is integrating the Tobii Eye tracker 5L into its simulators to improve their analytical capabilities.
“The ability to monitor and analyze a driver’s gaze is a fundamental part in making accurate and reliable evaluations of a person’s driving capabilities and to help them refine their skills”, said Stéphane Develter, CEO and founder, Develter Innovation. “With eye tracking, we can truly analyze and correlate what a person is seeing with how they react. In that way, we can also determine whether a problem is caused by a visual issue, a muscular issue, or a synchronization issue.”
“At first we tried to develop our own eye tracking system, but when we encountered Tobii and saw the quality in their solutions, we opted to go with their technology. Thanks to this, we can now deliver simulators that can make a real difference in improving road safety and help people with reduced mobility to learn driving in a secure environment”, said Stéphane Develter.
Another key factor in Develter Innovation’s decision to use Tobii’s eye tracking was the quick and easy process of integrating Tobii’s eye trackers into their driving simulators. The entire integration was done in less than three months from start to finish, which enabled a significantly shorter time to market.
