This spring, Voi Technology unveils its most advanced fleet generation yet. Designed to elevate rider comfort, maximise battery efficiency and extend vehicle sustainability at scale, the new models set a new benchmark for shared micromobility in Europe.
The new generation includes the Voiager 9 e-scooter and two upgraded e-bikes, Explorer 5 and Explorer Light 2. The rollout begins in Voi’s hometown Stockholm in February 2026, and will expand gradually across select European cities throughout the spring.
Built on years of operational insights from nearly half a billion rides, the 2026 vehicle generation has been engineered from the ground up to last longer, operate more efficiently and to better meet rider needs in demanding urban environments.

Fine-tuned for a superior ride experience
Across the entire new generation, ergonomics, control and ride quality have been re-engineered to deliver a smoother and more intuitive experience.
The Voiager 9 introduces curved handlebars for improved hand and arm comfort, repositioned brake levers to better suit riders with smaller hands, and a larger ergonomic throttle with improved grip and angle. A newly designed bell and easier-to-reach turn indicator enhance safety and usability in dense urban traffic, while an upgraded kickstand reduces the risk of toppled vehicles. Together, these refinements create a more controlled, confident and comfortable ride.
On the e-bike side, both Explorer 5 and Explorer Light 2 feature the industry’s most spacious baskets, making everyday trips with groceries, bags and other essentials easier. An expanded seat height adjustment range accommodates a wider range of riders, while improved handlebar ergonomics and upgraded braking systems enhance comfort and safety.
Both bikes have been upgraded to deliver a smoother, more intuitive riding experience. The bikes have been carefully tuned to make riding at typical city speeds (20-25 km/h) feel more natural and effortless. Combined with improved motor assistance for stronger uphill performance, the new e-bikes are built to handle longer and more demanding urban journeys with ease.
Explorer Light 2 is approximately 15 percent lighter than Explorer 5, offering a more agile and responsive option for riders who prefer a lighter vehicle, while still benefiting from the same technological upgrades. Together, the two models broaden Voi’s e-bike offering to serve an even wider range of riders and city needs and deliver micromobility for everyone.
Longer range, smarter energy use
Energy efficiency has been a defining priority in the development of the new fleet generation.
The Explorer 5 and Explorer Light 2 feature around 40 percent increased battery capacity, helping reduce battery swaps and improving overall fleet efficiency. The Voiager 9 comes with reduced idling energy consumption and full compatibility with Voi’s Supercharger system, enabling faster and more efficient charging operations in the field.
All three models are equipped with enhanced reliability and improved thermal protection, supporting safer and consistent performance and longer component lifespan under intensive shared use.
Towards emission-free transportation – designed for circularity
Durability and circularity are central to Voi’s vehicle strategy and ambition to reach Net Zero by 2035. The 2026 generation has been engineered for longer service life, simplified maintenance and improved repairability, steadily reducing the environmental impact for every kilometer ridden.
Material innovation plays a key role in this transition. The Voiager 9 increases its share of recycled materials by 15 percent compared to the previous generation. The new e-bikes represent an even greater step forward, incorporating more than seven times the recycled content of earlier models. Explorer Light 2 also delivers a lighter overall material footprint. With approximately 15 percent lower weight than Explorer 5, it requires less raw material in production and less energy to operate, contributing to a lower carbon footprint per vehicle over its lifetime.
Combined with more robust design, improved manufacturing processes powered by renewable energy and smarter energy systems in operation, the 2026 vehicle family significantly lowers emission intensity per kilometer while strengthening vehicle longevity across Voi’s European network.
Powered by Voi’s next-generation in-house IoT
The 2026 fleet is powered by Voi’s fully in-house developed IoT platform, designed to deliver greater precision, compliance and efficiency at scale. The system uses highly accurate GPS, enhanced with advanced positioning technology, to locate vehicles more precisely even in dense city environments.
Built-in geofencing allows vehicles to automatically adjust when entering specific zones, such as slow-speed or no-parking areas. Its ultra-low energy consumption reduces battery swaps and improves day-to-day operational efficiency.
Because the firmware is developed in-house, Voi can quickly adapt vehicles to new local regulations. Built-in safety features, including topple and accident detection, further strengthen rider protection and enable faster response when incidents occur.
