Geopolitics is putting focus on space as a critical domain for creating fast actionable information for surveillance and intelligence purposes. Edge computing in space is a critical enabler for these efforts. As recently communicated by the Swedish Airforce, we have now delivered a "super-satellite-computer" to the space project Bifrost, of which Unibap is proud to be part of. Bifrost is a collaboration between Swedish FMV (Swedish Defence Materiel Administration) and Danish FMI (Danish Defence Acquisition and Logistics Organization), with the objective of demonstrating AI applications in space. Read more about Bifrost and Unibap's contribution in this article by the Swedish Armed Forces (in Swedish): https://blogg.forsvarsmakten.se/flygvapenbloggen/2024/04/16/satellitdator-redo-overlamnades-till-fmv/
- The Bifrost project is a true testament to inter-Nordic collaboration, both between the respective countries' armed forces and privately owned companies. We are happy to be a part of this important step in strengthening the Danish and Swedish presence in orbit, says Johan Åman, CEO Unibap.
The significance of space as a crucial sector in the defense strategies of numerous countries was emphasized as a key trend during our recent attendance at the World's largest dedicated space conference - Space Symposium - in Colorado, USA. Our CEO, Johan Åman, has shared insights of his observations and Unibap's role in the space ecosystem in a recent article available here: https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/insights-from-frontier-unibap-space-symposium-johan-%C3%A5man-svjwf/.
