The aim of a potential long-term partnership is to jointly develop innovative systems and solutions - based on high-voltage lithium-ion technology - and to combine the respective core competencies of both companies. 

Exide Technologies' strong position in the material handling and AGV (Automated Guided Vehicles) segments in EMEA and APAC will be the initial focus. Alelion has nearly 20 years of experience in lithium-ion technology and holds a strong market position for high-voltage lithium-ion battery systems - specifically for a range of off-highway vehicles.

Joint Forces: A collaboration between the two companies holds great mutual potential and would give Exide, as a global player, immediate access to technical innovations in the field of high-voltage lithium-ion technology on the one hand, and create a wider market reach for Alelion on the other, thus enabling mutual growth and extended reach.

Both companies will now begin a more detailed analysis and deepen the dialogue, with the aim of being ready to make a decision based on the assessments in the second half of 2023.
