The Swedish Competition Authority has launched an investigation on whether companies providing pharmacy services have been in contact regarding avoiding bidding on keywords corresponding to each other's brands in paid search advertising and whether such matters have been discussed in trade association contexts. In February this year, as part of the investigation, the Swedish Competition Authority required Apotea Sverige AB to provide certain information regarding any contacts of the aforementioned kind. The purpose of the investigation is to examine whether there have been any violations of the prohibition against anti-competitive cooperation.

Apotea is cooperating with the Swedish Competition Authority and makes the assessment that the investigation is at a very early stage. Apotea does not consider itself to have violated competition regulations, but due to today's decision on sanction for violating competition regulations in the Swedish Competition Authorities case no. 288/2022, after about three years of investigation by the authority, Apotea informs the market that similar future outcomes for Apotea Sverige AB cannot be ruled out, and that such an outcome could lead to a sanction for violating competition regulations.
