Carbiotix AB (publ) ("Carbiotix" or "the Company") announces today the launch of its NutraCycle Formulation Lab service. The Formulation Lab service will be specifically directed towards food & beverage Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) companies that do not process or have limited processing of plant-based materials but would like broad access to complex, low-cost upcycled soluble fibers, proteins and other bioactive ingredients to develop and expedite the launch of healthier and more sustainable processed food & beverage products.

"I am very happy to announce the launch of the NutraCycle Formulation Lab service, a service which has been planned since the launch of NutraCycle early last year. After spending the past 18 months conducting over 50 NutraCycle projects on over 65 different plant-based side-streams from over 20 countries, we have built a portfolio of different upcycled ingredients from around the world. While some of our customers can use the upcycled ingredients in their own products, there are many food & beverage CPG companies who are interested in these ingredients but do not process or have limited processing of plant-based materials. The NutraCycle Formulation Lab service addresses this need directly by allowing these companies to get broad access to complex, low-cost upcycled soluble fibers, proteins and other bioactive ingredients to develop and expedite the launch of healthier and more sustainable processed food & beverage products. Carbiotix assists CPG companies with identifying, formulating and directly sourcing suitable ingredients through innovative co-investment opportunities.
The launch of the NutraCycle Formulation Lab service also coincides with a shift in the Company towards prioritising formulation work and the recent hiring of specialists in this area. While we will continue to assess new side-streams going forward and have not changed our ambition of starting one new customer project per week, we will ramp up our interaction with food & beverage CPG companies, building on our current contacts with leading companies. This will help ensure that end users of upcycled ingredients are involved in NutraCycle projects at the earliest stage possible as co-investors. This will in turn help expedite the market introduction of fortified products and accelerate the growth of upcycled ingredient volumes over time."
