ChromoGenics is applying to patent its ConverLight® Interlayer that enables the glazing industry to manufacture smart dynamic glass without the need to invest in new equipment. ConverLight® Interlayer is accelerating the implementation of ChromoGenic's partner strategy by simplifying partner production of ConverLight® Dynamic glass. The innovation increases the scalability of this business and is expected to contribute to increased sales, improved cashflow, and a reduction in tied-up capital.
ConverLight® Dynamic from ChromoGenic consists of a dynamic layer that is laminated into glass to provide buildings with good solar control. The product creates an improved and more energy efficient indoor environment, plus a lower environment load in production, transport and use. The ability to produce a dynamic foil layer that its regional partners can integrate into glass and deliver to their customers themselves is unique to ChromoGenics.
The company itself provides the investment and knowledge required to cut the dynamic layer to customer specific sizes. Until now, cutting customer specific orders to size has been a very delicate and sensitive process which made it difficult to supply to other companies in the glazing industry.
ConverLight® Interlayer is a dynamic layer, supplied ready cut to fit a specific glass size. As a robust and transport friendly product, it can be handled within the parameters of standard glazing industry glass laminating operations. A patent application has been submitted and a smaller first commercial order has already been delivered.
