At this year's Sweden's Public Meals event at Växjö concert hall, DUG Foodtech's CEO Helene Nielsen presented the Climate kitchen of the year 2025 award. The winner, Almarevägens Preschool in Järfälla, was recognized for its outstanding work in reducing climate impact and creating sustainable, inspiring meals for children and staff.
"Almarevägens Preschool demonstrates that climate-smart meals can be both delicious, creative, and educational. They are a role model for how we can cook with care for both people and the planet," says Helene Nielsen, CEO of DUG Foodtech.
DUG Foodtech is the official sponsor of Climate Kitchen of the year 2025, an award that highlights public kitchens that work in inspiring and practical ways to promote sustainability, reduce climate impact, and make smart use of ingredients.
As a sponsor, DUG Foodtech aims to increase knowledge and engagement around climate-smart cooking in Sweden's public kitchens.
"Public kitchens play a crucial role in the transition toward more sustainable eating habits. It's where we shape the taste preferences of the future and teach children what good and climate-smart food can be. We are incredibly proud of the positive response to our products, their neutral taste, being completely lactose-free, gluten-free, and a sustainable choice for the future, have been widely appreciated. It shows that change is possible when taste, health, and sustainability go hand in hand," says Helene Nielsen, CEO of DUG Foodtech.
A warm congratulations to chef Anna-Karin Ris and the entire team at Almarevägens Preschool, as well as to all the dedicated professionals across the country who make a difference every day in Sweden's public meals.
