Overall volumes steady - North Atlantic traffic strengthened

In November, Finnair carried 893,200 passengers, which was 0.6% fewer than in November 2024. Passenger numbers grew clearly in North Atlantic traffic and slightly also in Asian and European traffic but declined significantly in Middle Eastern traffic and slightly also in Domestic traffic.

Overall capacity, measured in available seat kilometres (ASK), decreased by 0.9%. Capacity grew significantly in North Atlantic traffic and clearly in Asian traffic, driven primarily by added frequencies to Dallas as well as Phuket and Hong Kong. Capacity increased slightly also in European and Domestic traffic. In Middle Eastern traffic, ASKs decreased due to the end of cooperation with Qatar Airways on flights between Stockholm, Copenhagen and Doha on 15 January 2025. Including wet lease outs, overall capacity decreased by 0.8%.

Finnair's traffic, measured in revenue passenger kilometres (RPK), declined by 0.7%. RPKs saw growth in North Atlantic, Asian and European traffic, while declining in Middle Eastern and Domestic traffic.

Passenger load factor (PLF) increased by 0.2% points to 74.1%. PLF improved in Middle Eastern and European traffic but declined in Domestic, Asian and North Atlantic traffic.

Total cargo tonnes declined by 6.6%. Revenue cargo tonne kilometres declined by 4.0%.

In November, 85.7% of all Finnair flights arrived on schedule compared to 71.5% in the comparison period when on-time performance was negatively affected by heavy snowfalls at the Helsinki airport.
