Ultrasonic cleaning is an integral part of best practices to reprocess instruments, especially the most complex ones used for robotic surgery, in order to minimize the risk of hospital acquired infections.

Ultra Clean Systems Inc. is located near Tampa, Florida, US, and generated an annual revenue of SEK 90 M in 2022. For nearly a decade, Getinge has been the exclusive distributor of Ultra Clean Systems' offering in North America. Through the vertical integration Getinge will ensure optimal service continuity for the hundreds of units installed in the United States.

Getinge acquires 100% of the shares of Ultra Clean Systems Inc. for SEK 170 M (USD 16 M) in cash. Getinge expects no material integration costs in 2023.

The acquisition is not expected to have a material impact on Getinge's operating profit and earnings per share as of 2023.
