GomSpace signs 19.5 MEUR (approx. 215 MSEK) contract with European Tech Firm to deliver 18 satellites
GomSpace today announced the signing of a 19.5 MEUR (approx. 215 MSEK) contract with a European-based, privately held, venture-funded technology company focused on deploying a next-generation satellite network.
The customer-positioned as a disruptor in space-based communications-is backed by long-term capital and early commercial interest. GomSpace has been selected to deliver 18 satellites within a 12-month timeframe as part of a proof-of-concept and early service verification mission.
This project will leverage GomSpace's standardized satellite platform, which benefits from extensive flight heritage and a modular design developed over the past year. The platform supports rapid deployment and cost-efficient manufacturing, enabling volume production with high reliability. All satellites will be built at GomSpace's state-of-the-art production facilities in Aalborg, which are designed to scale for exactly this type of high-volume mission.
Carsten Drachmann, CEO of GomSpace, stated: "This is a mission-critical initiative for our customer, and we are proud to have been chosen from a competitive field of suppliers. Our technology heritage, customer mission focus, world-class team, and scalable manufacturing capabilities were decisive factors. We are honored to support this ambitious venture and look forward to establishing a long-term collaboration".
On March 18, GomSpace announced a directed share issue to The Hargreaves Family raising approx. 196 MSEK to seize new business opportunities and ensure a solid financial foundation, supporting accelerated development and long-term profitable growth.
In line with the March strategy to build inventory of standard platform components and reduce delivery timelines to market, GomSpace undertook, at its own risk in Q2, the early procurement of additional standard materials- including those required to deliver 18 satellites within 12 months. This was done in good faith and in parallel with finalizing the customer contract to ensure on-time delivery in Q2 2026. The contract has now been signed by both parties, and GomSpace expects to receive initial payments from the customers in Q3.
Carsten Drachmann, CEO of GomSpace, comments: "This is a clear example of why GomSpace must continue to take a more forward-leaning approach to reducing time to market. The customer required rapid delivery, and our ability to meet that need in all aspects was instrumental in securing the contract."
The contract represents a significant milestone for GomSpace, demonstrating the operational maturity and market readiness of its pre-qualified satellite platform. In addition to the full integration service delivery, the platform is also available as a complete satellite assembly kit to customers seeking to build and integrate satellites independently, offering a flexible path to orbit.
