In April of this year, the Department of Orthopaedics at Rikshospitalet successfully performed its first surgeries using OPRA[TM] Implant System in two patients with above-knee amputations. The first patient is now fully treated, and the department will expand its osseointegration program to include the OPRA[TM] Implant System for artificial thumb replacement, adding to the current offering that includes artificial trans-femoral and trans-humeral replacement treatments.

"Rikshospitalet and professor Magne Røkkum have been very successful in introducing the use of OPRA[TM] in clinical treatment of patients in Norway who require artificial limb replacement. Integrum's OPRA[TM] Implant System is a bone-anchored system based on osseointegration. As the prostheses are directly attached to the bone, the use of a socket is avoided, leading to fewer complications and better quality of life for the patient.
