Katalysen Ventures AB (publ) portfolio company VALEGA Chain Analytics Oy ("VALEGA") today announces that it has entered into a strategic partnership with Softronic CM1 AB ("CM1") and its AML platform, Softronic CM1. Through this collaboration, VALEGA's analytics for cryptocurrency transactions and hidden crypto exposure will be integrated with established monitoring of traditional payment flows in a unified process.

Financial institutions today operate sophisticated systems to detect suspicious activity in the traditional payment system. At the same time, criminal networks are increasingly using crypto infrastructure to move value, obscure transaction trails, and rapidly shift between crypto assets and fiat currencies. The result is a monitoring gap between two worlds that are, in reality, closely connected.

The partnership with CM1 represents an important step for VALEGA, as it enables VALEGA's crypto analytics to be incorporated directly into financial institutions' transaction monitoring processes. This creates the conditions for faster implementation, stronger operational relevance, and clearer workflows for compliance and AML teams.

Through the integration, the parties strengthen financial institutions' ability to detect risks related to money laundering, fraud, and terrorist financing, including cases where financial flows move between traditional accounts and crypto environments.

In practice, the collaboration enables:

  • A unified process where risk indicators from both crypto and fiat transactions can be analyzed together
  • Improved ability to identify hidden crypto exposure linked to customers, transactions, and counterparties
  • A more comprehensive foundation for investigations, documentation, and regulatory compliance

Together, the parties aim to contribute to a new standard for financial monitoring in a reality where traditional payment systems and crypto assets coexist.

"Through our partnership with Softronic CM1, we can for the first time connect analysis of cryptocurrency transactions with established monitoring of traditional payment flows. Together we are creating a more comprehensive infrastructure for detecting and combating financial crime," comments Sven Färm Martinsson, CEO of VALEGA.

"With the deepened collaboration between Softronic CM1 and VALEGA, we strengthen the capabilities and opportunities for our customers by offering integrated crypto analytics within our existing AML platform. This is a natural step in our ambition to help financial institutions navigate an increasingly complex landscape where traditional payment flows and crypto assets coexist," comments Sandra Madstedt, Business Unit Manager for Softronic CM1.
