Nexam Chemical has received its first production order for additives designed for the industrial-scale processing of rPET from a new customer. This milestone represents years of dedicated work to develop and refine our solutions, ultimately gaining the necessary technical approval from the customer.
The order is the first on an industrial scale from a leading global player in the circular food packaging industry, who views Nexam Chemical as a trusted partner in advancing sustainable packaging solutions, and is intended for industrial scale processing of over 100 tons of rPET (polyethylene terephthalate). It is the intention of the collaboration to continue with serial deliveries going forward.
Henrik Bernquist, Business Manager, stated: "Our solutions help global brands meet sustainability goals, and this order underlines our contribution to the circular economy. We expect this to pave the way for further growth in PET recycling."
CEO Ronnie Törnqvist added: "This order emphasizes the critical role of circularity in plastics, particularly for food packaging. With our additives, customers can work towards EU recycling targets while promoting sustainable development."
In collaboration with this customer, Nexam Chemical is hopeful to accelerate progress toward a circular economy in packaging. This further strengthens Nexam Chemical's position as a leader in innovative recycling solutions for the food packaging industry.
