The new swimming pool in the Bäckaslöv area in Växjö will be a modern and versatile facility with a 50-meter pool and stands for around 500 spectators. The facility will also house two multi-purpose pools, a family pool with various water attractions and a relaxation area with both indoor and outdoor pools.

"The new swimming pool facility will be a vital meeting place for all of Växjö - from schools and clubs to families and exercise swimming. This is a long-term project with high demands on its function, operation and sustainability, and we have focused intently on creating a facility that works well both daily and as time passes. The project is a turnkey contract in partnering. Work will start in June 2026 and is expected to be completed in 2029.

This construction contract was preceded by a so-called phase 1 agreement where Peab was contracted to work with the customer to find an optimized product with the right quality and to manage risks and uncertainties. The project is now entering phase 2, which is the implementation phase.

The project will be order registered in business area Construction in the second quarter 2026.
