Peab has been commissioned to build a swimming pool facility in Helsingborg. The customer is the City of Helsingborg and the contract is worth SEK 825 million.
The new swimming pool facility will be part of the new city district Oceanhamnen and next door to the sea. It will be directly connected to Oceanhamnen's quayside, between the Oslo Pier and the Ocean Pier. The Oceanhamn Swimming Pool will be an activity and family facility that houses a 50 meter competition pool with stands that hold up to 1,500 spectators, a 25 meter training pool and a multi-purpose pool with a height-adjustable bottom suited to swimming lessons, rehabilitation, baby swimming and wellness activities. The facility will have a total gross area of 18,500 m2.
"Entering the next phase is a big step for all of us involved in the project. Peab and the municipality's organization have complemented each other well and we now have a solid platform for realizing a great project and a wonderful swimming pool facility. This project is a good example of the way we work close to our local communities and create long-term value together with our customers and partners," says Mani Mozaffari, Region Manager Peab.
"We really look forward to starting construction on the Oceanhamn Swimming Pool. A new swimming pool facility in Helsingborg is eagerly awaited and it feels great to now enter the next phase of the project," says Olof Carlius, Acting Property Director at the City of Helsingborg.
The project is a turnkey contract in partnering. Work will start in the autumn of 2026 and is expected to be completed in the spring of 2030.
This construction contract was preceded by a so-called phase 1 contract where Peab was contracted to work with the customer to find an optimized product with the right quality and to manage risks and opportunities. The project is now entering phase 2 after signing a construction contract that entails production.
The project will be order registered in business area Construction in the second quarter 2026.
