Peab has been commissioned by the Swedish Transport Administration to work on the West Link's Rosenlund contract, one of five construction contracts in the West Link stage Haga.

The project comprises part of the underground commuter train station. The new station will have three entrances with several platforms, four railway tracks, an intermediate level in the north with room for a bicycle garage and an intermediate level in the south that flows into the School of Business, Economics and Law. The project is a traditional contract that stretches over a period of about five years.

Peab was awarded the Rosenlund contract in 2024. The earth conditions in the area are complicated with rock, clay and a 30 meter deep shaft in the ground under the Rosenlund channel. The conditions are also challenging topside since the construction site is in the middle of the city district Haga and a lot of consideration must be taken to traffic flows and people in the area.

The solutions the Swedish Transport Administration have now ordered from us cover, in addition to all the technical demands, the tough demands on safety, the environment and the work environment. "Having determined the production method is an important milestone in the project and creates the basis for an efficient and safe construction process in one of the West Link's most challenging construction contracts, thereby providing a clear platform for further planning and implementation," says Patrick Guné, Operations Area Manager Large Projects at the Swedish Transport Administration.

The project will be order registered in the fourth quarter 2025 with 4 billion Swedish kronor. The first phase was order registered with 1.5 billion Swedish kronor in the first quarter 2024.
