Peab has been commissioned to continue to maintain the roads in the operational area Västerås for the next four years. The customer is the Swedish Transport Administration and the contract is worth SEK 152 million.
Peab has been contracted to maintain the federal roads 24/7 year-round. This means snow plowing and anti-icing to make the roads safe and passable in the winter. In the summer Peab conducts ongoing road maintenance like repairing minor road damage, maintaining signs, road barriers and ditches and ensuring water flows through culverts. The contract comprises 980 kilometers of roads, including 85 kilometers of gravel roads.
"We're proud to continue with operation and maintenance in the operational area Västerås. We've worked well with our customer the Swedish Transport Administration over the past four years and are glad we can continue road maintenance together," says Berth Larsson, Region Manager Peab.
This is a four-year contract with a two-year extension option.
The project will be order registered in business area Civil Engineering in the second quarter 2026.
