The med-tec company PolarCool's concussion treatment product, PolarCap®, has been recognized by being shortlisted in the medical category of the Sports Technology Awards, the premier platform highlighting and celebrating technological advancements in sports. PolarCap® is shortlisted in the category of Sports and Exercise Medical.
PolarCool develops and markets the product PolarCap®, which alleviates the effects of concussions. The primary users of PolarCap® include sports clubs, organizations, and facilities in contact sports such as ice hockey, rugby, football, and handball, but also other sports with an increased risk of concussion.
The Sports Technology Awards (http://www.sportstechgroup.org/sports-technology-awards), renowned as the pinnacle of global recognition for tech-driven progress in sports, has singled out PolarCool for consideration in the Sports and Exercise Medical Category. This category honors advancements in medical and scientific technology geared towards monitoring, diagnosing, treating, and rehabilitating athletes across all levels. Areas of focus include biomechanics, injury assessment and prevention, medical diagnostic imaging, prosthetics and assistive devices, rehabilitation, sports nutrition, and physiology, as well as telemedicine and remote monitoring.
With entries spanning across 5 continents, representing over 30 countries, and encompassing more than 50 sports, the Sports Technology Awards receive significant attention from the global sports community. The annual cycle commences with entries opening in September, followed by a shortlisting process conducted by over 50 industry experts who review all submissions. The 2024 Awards ceremony is set to take place in London, where the most outstanding innovations in sports technology are celebrated and honored.
This global recognition and exposure of PolarCap® being shortlisted among world-leading sports technology brands is very impactful and highlights the treatment on the global stage. This recognition confirms PolarCool's role as a pioneer and a game-changer in athletes' concussion recovery.
