PolarCool AB (publ) has entered into an agreement with the French Pro D2 Rugby team, Provence, for the use of the PolarCap® System. The agreement with Provence marks the introduction of concussion treatment with PolarCap®, into the Pro D2, the second division in French Rugby behind the Top 14.

PolarCool develops and markets the product PolarCap®, which alleviates the effects of concussions. The primary users of PolarCap® include sports clubs, organizations, and facilities in contact sports such as ice hockey, rugby, football, and handball, but also other sports with an increased risk of concussion.

PolarCool has recently made significant strides in introducing PolarCap® to the international rugby market. The company currently has existing agreements with seven professional rugby clubs in the French Top 14. The agreement with Provence marks a strategic introduction for PolarCap® into the Pro D2 and means that PolarCap® will be used by Provence throughout the rest of the Pro D2 season, in an initial evaluation period, with the aim to continue into a 2-year agreement. Provence are currently contenders for the Pro D2 title and will be aiming for promotion into the Top 14 from the 2024/2025 season.

PolarCool's CEO Erik Andersson comments:

-In our continued establishment in the French market, it is now gratifying that we have received our first agreement within the Pro D2. There is a substantial need for solutions to address head injury concerns in rugby. The market holds great potential for PolarCool, especially as we consider the supply by a second-tier team like Provence.

The Pro D2 is the second-tier professional rugby league in France featuring 16 teams throughout France. The agreement with Provence is strategically important, even if the financial significance of individual agreements is limited.
