Redsense Medical announces that a large international dialysis care provider will initiate a soft rollout of the Redsense blood leakage alarm, making it available to selected acute care hospitals with special needs. The decision was made following a successful evaluation at multiple locations.
In February this year, Redsense Medical announced positive results from a multicenter pilot study with the company's blood leakage alarm that was conducted by a large international dialysis care provider. The study indicated that Redsense was effective in detecting venous blood loss. Redsense was also found to be an uncomplicated and straightforward device to use, without adding any extra burden when performing dialysis treatments.
Based on these results, the dialysis care provider has now decided to make Redsense available at selected hospitals with special needs. It will be available on an as-needed basis for acute care patients who require dialysis.
The dialysis provider will oversee this soft rollout of Redsense, which will add to its collection of patient usage data.
"We are excited that this large international dialysis care provider will make our blood leakage alarm available to dialysis patients at selected hospitals. Every new adoption and treatment using Redsense takes us closer to the day when dialysis care providers realize that universal implementation of our device is the only logical solution to protect dialysis patients from catastrophic venous blood loss. In addition to the benefits for the patients, it would be a financially accountable decision, based on available and robust medical and economic data," says Redsense Medical's CEO Patrik Byhmer.
