President Donald Trump will order a broad overhaul of the nation's organ transplant and kidney dialysis systems Wednesday in an executive order designed to prolong lives and to save the government billions of dollars, according to people familiar with the plan.
President Trump will outline proposals to keep people with kidney disease off dialysis longer and to make treatment less expensive, to encourage more live donation of kidneys and livers, and to force the 58 non-profits that collect transplant organs to improve their performance, people briefed on the plan said. The President also will try to reduce the discarding of less-than-perfect organs by transplant surgeons.
`At Redsense Medical, we are committed to creating sustainable and long-term value for all our stakeholders. Sharing of organs is becoming an important way to help patients, implementing the actual organ donation effectively is a challenging process for all involved. To improve patient safety is our priority and by this initiative, we see potential impact of expanding our presence in the US.' says Patrik Byhmer CEO of Redsense Medical.
Jane Hurst, Clinical Director, Redsense Medical, US continues, `In the executive order, The Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation has been instructed to experiment with new approaches to provider payment. By focusing on a more comprehensive approach to kidney health, the administration may actually improve care at every stage.'
