Network companies have an obligation to check electrical installations in homes and businesses annually to prevent fires caused by electrical faults. Rejlers has now renewed the agreement with Lyse Elnett and will continue to carry out checks throughout southern Rogaland in Norway.

"On behalf of Lyse Elnett, we have controlled the electrical facilities in 7,000 properties in the last two years. We will continue to do so for at least two more years and are pleased with the renewed confidence. It is an important work for us, where we help prevent fires and potentially save lives," says Jan Cato Hovde, Head of Rejlers Elsikkerhet in Norway.

Rejlers won the contract with Lyse Elnett in 2019 and signed a two-year contract, with the possibility of an extension. It has been a good collaboration all the way, according to Lyse.

Their consultants make thorough checks and professional assessments, and also get very high scores in the customer surveys. We have had a close dialogue all the way and have developed and learned a lot from each other," says Joar Bø, Head of DLE (Det lokale elektrisitetstilsynet) in Lyse Elnett.

Almost half of all house fires can be attributed to electrical faults and are caused by either faulty electrical installations or improper use of electrical equipment. Rejlers checks whether the electrical installations are safe, that documentation is correct and trains in order to increase electrical safety.
