Scandinavian Astor Group AB (publ) (`Astor Group' or `the Company') is strengthening its focus on automation through new investments in machinery for its subsidiaries Marstrom Composite and Mikroponent.
"We see a growing need for innovative defence systems to secure Europe and we at Astor Group are already contributing in several areas. Therefore, what we are doing now within Astor is to increase our focus on automation, improved resilience & redundancy in all companies and real defence innovation together with the users. These actions will strengthen us to provide systems and equipment to the military units with the desired operational effect, in time", says Astor Group CEO Mattias Hjorth.
Astor Group's Board of Directors has decided to order a new etching machine for approximately SEK 6 million to the subsidiary Mikroponent earlier than planned. In the autumn of 2024, Mikroponent replaced its second etching machine, which generated a significantly increased production rate and lower operating costs. With a delivery time of about 4 months, the goal is that the new production line now ordered will be in operation after the summer.
Astor is also preparing for further investments, in particular in its subsidiary Marstrom and its new production facility in Ljungby, which was completed as an asset acquisition on 3 February 2025. These machine investments are made against the background of increased demand for production capacity, where the ambition is to increase series production, primarily for the defence industry.
The machines will be financed through leasing with residual value.
