The conference brings together representatives of leading sustainability investors, disruptive start-ups and other key players in the sustainability field. The starting point is the enormous upscaling of green technology that will be required if the world is to meet the 1.5 degree target, i.e. the Paris Agreement's goal that the global temperature increase should not exceed 1.5 degrees compared to pre-industrial levels.
Through panel discussions, plenaries and problem-solving sessions, the summit focuses on the requirements for successful hyper-scaling, existing challenges and best practices as well as on how to out-execute competitors. In his presentation, Alf Blomqvist will highlight the joint venture that Enviro has formed together with Antin Infrastructure Partners and which will be the world's first large-scale tire recycling company.
"Enviro has developed a leading proprietary technology, but the decisive challenge is to scale it up, i.e. to succeed in bringing about the industrialization and commercialization of the technology required to meet market needs and customer demand. We have a solution for increased circularity in the tire and oil industry, but to make a real difference, we have to replace enormous amounts of fossil raw materials, and that places great demands on both technology and financing. Our solution has been to join forces with one of Europe's leading infrastructure investors and it is an approach for hyperscaling of circular technologies that no one has tried before," says Alf Blomqvist.
The venue for the 2024 GBB Summit Stockholm is Münchenbryggeriet in Stockholm, Sweden and the summit runs between June 17 and 18. Enviro's chairman will be making his presentation at 11.00 am on June 18.

Scandinavian Enviro Systems contributes to enhanced environmental and economic sustainability using a patented technology for the recovery of valuable raw materials from scrapped and end-of-life products, including tires. The production of new tires using carbon black recovered with Enviro’s technology reduces carbon dioxide emissions by up to 93 per cent compared with the use of virgin carbon black. Enviro has its head office in Gothenburg and a plant for the recycling of end-of-life tires in Åsensbruk. The largest owner is the French tire manufacturer Michelin.
