Sound Dimension, the developer of device-synchronization technology, today announced the launch of AiFi Scene Commerce. The product addresses the video streaming industry's need to increase advertisement revenue by linking the television screen directly to the viewer's smartphone. This allows platforms to trigger real-time, scene-specific offers without stopping the show.

As streaming platforms face declining revenue per impression and rising ad fatigue, AiFi Scene Commerce provides a new way to monetize content. The technology ensures that when an ad or product appears on the TV, a call to action appears on the viewer's phone when they are connected as speakers. 

"With AiFi Scene Commerce, we turn synchronized sound into monetizable infrastructure," says Rickard Riblom, CEO of Sound Dimension. "When viewers use the smartphones for better audio, the platforms can deliver non-intrusive offers at the peak of engagement. This provides platforms with a new revenue stream and also allows them to sell measurable click-through rates for TV instead of only ad impressions."

By transforming the viewer's smartphone into a verified, session-aware node, AiFi Scene Commerce introduces several capabilities:

  • Measurable TV Advertising: Stop selling reach and start selling results. AiFi Scene Commerce bridges the gap between the TV screen and the personal device, delivering in-hand call to actions that drive deterministic CTR. TV platforms and AVOD (Advertising-Based Video on Demand) can sell ad with metrics previously reserved for social media.
  • Zero-Interrupt Monetization: Contextual offers and product placements can be triggered directly to the mobile device during high-engagement scenes, keeping the cinematic experience on the TV pure and uninterrupted.
  • New Premium Inventory: Enables streaming platforms to launch exclusive "drops" and real-time commerce opportunities, increasing ARPU (Average Revenue Per User) without increasing the overall ad load.

Sound Dimension has already begun presenting the solution to the video streaming space. The company will officially unveil AiFi Scene Commerce at the NAB Show Streaming Summit in Las Vegas this April.
