Today, the 11th of August 2022, PAYDAY 2™ celebrates 9 amazing years of PAYDAY 2. The highlights of this event is the new community event where the community works together to unlock cosmetic rewards. In addition to the event and rewards, OVERKILL_Almir is hosting a stream this afternoon at 17:00 CEST on the paydaythegame Twitch Channel.

It’s been 9 years since PAYDAY 2 first released. Ever since, PAYDAY 2 has been at the forefront of co-op and heisting games and has often sat as one of the most played titles on Steam.Over the years, images from PAYDAY 2 have been referenced in several popular games and even in big title movies. The PAYDAY 2 team is incredibly grateful to its community and fans for all the support they have shown over these past 9 years and hopes to see everyone for years to come.

Over the course of our anniversary celebration the event centers around a golden pig. Players collect valuables, put them in the piggy and the piggy grows larger. Once the pig is fed to bursting, rewards are unlocked. An individual can’t unlock these items, but needs to work with the rest of the community by filling up the meter on our event website.

A crowd favorite, the cash blaster, returns for the second time. Last year the PAYDAY 2 community used the Cash Blaster to "make contributions to the police retirement fund". This year the Cash Blaster is back with a renewed purpose, to feed a golden pig. Using the Cash Blaster will be one of the best ways of progressing the community event filling the pig and progressing both personal and community challenges.
