Dekro Paints (Pty) Ltd, one of the leading manufacturers and distributors of paints and coatings in South Africa, has finalized their testing using a new intumescent paint system enhanced with Svenska Aerogel's material. The results were successful, and Dekro Paints will now initiate the third-party certification tests. They are therefore the first company in this application to enter the certification process for a product that includes Quartzene®.
Over the past years, Dekro Paints has developed a new intumescent paint system, enhanced by Svenska Aerogel's material Quartzene®, which is known for its fire-resistant properties. Following a series of successful laboratory tests, the customer entered the certification phase of the project - a required step to ensure the performance is verified by an independent institute before launch. In line with this progress, Svenska Aerogel has received an initial material order. Completion of the certification is expected to be completed by mid-2025.
