Sweden's largest food wholesaler, ICA, has decided to offer the potato drink DUG[®] in its national range. At the end of September, DUG will be on store shelves.
ICA Sverige has approximately 1,300 stores and is Sweden's leading grocery player. All ICA stores will be able to order Veg of Lund's plant-based potato drink DUG[®] through ICA's central purchasing function.
The independent ICA retailers own and operate the stores independently, but have agreements with ICA Sverige on, among other things, joint purchasing, logistics, market communication and store development. The product range is an important part of the stores' own marketing and is also a tool to meet the demand from the most important customer groups.
"It is gratifying that we see interest from both ICA and other large Swedish retail chains. Sweden is our home market and we intend to strengthen our organization in order to take a leading position among the largest products of plant-based beverages. There is solid work behind the launch and I am very happy to soon be able to offer super durable DUG Original and DUG Barista for all ICA customers around the country", says Cecilia Lindwall, CEO of Veg of Lund.
"Sales in the stores that brought in DUG at the start of the launch show that customers are returning and it gives us good hopes that DUG will continue to have a place in consumers' consciousness and on their dining table.
