Tech company Advania Sweden is co-locating two Malmö offices to Magasinet (Hamnen 22:188) in Nyhamnen. Magasinet is a carefully renovated old granary in a prime location in this emerging district. The move is in September 2025 and the five-year lease encompasses 1,900 square metres.
Advania has established itself as one of the leading IT service companies in the market with approximately 1,700 employees. Through a complete offering from the provision of IT to value-adding services, Advania helps its customers with everything from traditional IT to IT-driven innovation.
Magasinet's history begins in 1951, when Danish architect Tage Møller was tasked with designing a modern, fit-for-purpose warehouse building. The building is one of the most characteristic ones in the port area, with a unique staircase facing the water that once facilitated the unloading of arriving ships. When Wihlborgs took over the property and breathed new life into it in 2012, this design was given a new function in the form of balconies. Everything has been carefully renovated into modern, functional work environments.
Nyhamnen is by the water and directly connected to Malmö C. It is growing into a new and sustainable city district with a mix of housing and businesses, retail and services. When fully developed, Nyhamnen is expected to accommodate 7,000-9,000 residential units and 15,000-21,000 workplaces. Wihlborgs has several existing properties and development rights for future offices in the area.
