Simon Weinberg is one of Sweden's most accomplished chefs, with experience from several world-renowned restaurants such as NOMA in Copenhagen, Bagatelle in Oslo, and Operakällaren in Stockholm. He has also run the acclaimed fine dining restaurant Bokbacka in Oslo - named one of Norway's best restaurants for several consecutive years - as well as Weinbergs Hotell in Trelleborg, which has been listed in White Guide's "Master Class" and awarded "Best Hotel in Skåne."

The new establishment - "Bankpalatset" (The Bank Palace) - will feature:

• A modern bistro with Nordic and Mediterranean influences, offering à la carte lunch and dinner
• A wine and aperitif bar, serving everything from local brews to exclusive wines
• A cocktail bar, open evenings and weekends
• A food bar for spontaneous drop-ins
• A generous and sunny outdoor terrace with its own distinct character

The historic Svea building was completed in 1884 after being constructed in three stages. Designed by Mauritz Frohm, who also served as the city architect, it shares architectural heritage with several other prominent Helsingborg landmarks. The property was long home to Hotel Continental and several banks (hence the name Bankpalatset), and today houses offices, shops, and restaurants.

The current restaurant tenant, Heat Helsingborg, has been a cherished part of the building for 28 years but has chosen to pursue other ventures. The restaurant will remain open throughout the autumn and will celebrate its farewell with a closing party on 3 January.
