Wirtek A/S last year joined Energy Cluster Denmark (ECD), the national innovation cluster driving collaboration across the Danish energy sector. Now represented on the SME Advisory Board by Chief Revenue Officer Niels Erik Wøhlk, Wirtek's participation reinforces the company's long-term commitment to advancing digitalisation and innovation in support of the green transition.

Energy Cluster Denmark was officially established in 2020 through the consolidation of Denmark's leading energy-innovation clusters. In response to the growing importance of small and medium-sized enterprises in shaping the country's energy transformation, ECD created a dedicated Advisory Board for SMEs. In October 2025, Niels Erik Wøhlk was welcomed to this forum to represent Wirtek and contribute to aligning the cluster's initiatives with the needs and perspectives of agile technology companies.
For Wirtek, joining the Advisory Board is a natural step in its strategic journey. Since 2022, the company has focused strongly on energy, helping their clients reduce risk, improve interoperability, and accelerate the sustainability transition. In 2024, Wirtek's Energy business unit achieved 84% year-on-year growth and now represents a significant share of total revenue. The company enters this collaboration from a position of stability and scalability. The goal is to leverage this foundation to co-create innovative energy technologies that deliver measurable impact, not only for clients, but for the wider energy ecosystem.

As a member of the SME Advisory Board, Wirtek would like to contribute with:
- Insight into the digitalisation of energy infrastructure through IoT, software and embedded systems.
- An SME perspective on making innovation projects both practical and value-creating, drawing on hands-on experience in securing access to the right development talent, a challenge that often limits progress in the energy sector.
- Collaboration across utilities, universities and SMEs to drive the green transition forward.
