Virtual satellite network operator Wyld Networks has been contracted to deliver its Wyld Connect satellite IoT solution and data service to EAT, an energy automation technology company based in Peru. Wyld Networks has received a purchase order with a total value of approximately SEK 770,000 for delivery of Wyld Connect modems and data starting in October 2024.
Approximately 15% of Brazil's population lives in rural areas that have limited or no cellular coverage. Perhaps 10-15% of utility meters (8 to 13 million) in rural and remote regions might be outside reliable cellular connectivity.*
Energy Consumption Management (ECM) is EAT's comprehensive solution for meter telemetry in the electric power, gas and water sectors which allows management of multiple measurement points. ECM is a mixed Hardware solution (ECM-P) and a Cloud component (ECM-Cloud Platform). ECM-Cloud allows the control and visualization of electrical consumption of all devices for the electrical energy sector.
ECM seeks to find patterns to take corrective actions, understand if there are additional hidden behaviours that may be of interest and finally automate the action-taking process. The Wyld Connect solution will allow EAT to initially provide electricity utility meter reading for public infrastructure directly via low earth orbiting satellites, delivering data and recurring income through the Wyld Fusion platform.
"We are very happy to start this partnership with Wyld Networks to connect public utility meters in Peru that are located outside of cellular coverage," said Jorge Benavides Aspiazu. Co-founder of EAT. "Satellite connectivity is vital for multiple utility metering deployments and Wyld Connect is a game changing solution that meets this known issue for utility infrastructure owners."
"We are pleased to announce the receipt of this purchase order. Wyld's technology solves numerous connectivity issues in the energy environment in Peru where operators are seeking more digitisation of fixed assets in order to maximise efficiencies and meet sustainability goals," said Alastair Williamson, CEO of Wyld Networks.
