Inderes launches Business Finland-funded research project to explore the use of generative AI in Equity research business

In May 2025, Inderes will launch a research project to explore the potential of generative artificial intelligence for transforming and internationalizing equity research business. The project size is EUR 253,000, for which Business Finland has granted EUR 126,500. The project will run until November 2025.

The aim of the project is to explore an operating model based on AI agents that enables the production of high-quality and critical equity research in an even more scalable manner. The project creates concept-level solutions that utilize Inderes' extensive analysis archive built over the years, as well as the diverse investor relations communications of the companies under coverage.

“We believe that generative AI can revolutionize equity research production methods and open entirely new opportunities in international markets. However, the high-quality analysis and valuable content we offer to investors will remain at the heart of the development”, says Antti Luiro, who leads the internationalization of Inderes’ research business.

During the project Inderes will examine, among other things, AI agents that support analysts in retrieving data, making estimates and building scenarios. In addition, the company will explore how AI can be used to localize content, produce analysis for entirely new markets and build a multilingual investor community.

“We see AI agents as an opportunity to significantly increase the efficiency of analytical work without compromising on quality. Thus, allowing our analysts to focus more on in-depth fundamental work and expand their coverage internationally”, Luiro continues.

The project's intended outcomes include first AI solution prototypes for selected equity research areas, localized lightweight research reports and a multilingual investor forum serving investors internationally. Through these outcomes, Inderes aims to expand more quickly in new markets.

“With the support of Business Finland funding, we can test out more ambitious ideas and build the foundation for a scalable research model combining analysts and artificial intelligence”, says Product Lead Miikka Laitila, who is leading the research project.
