India’s largest commercial port operator selected Lamor to design and supply oil spill response technology to its largest port 

Adani Ports and SEZ Limited (APSEZ), the largest commercial ports operator in India, has selected Lamor as their partner for the design and supply of the oil spill response technology for their newest and largest port, Vizhinjam port in Kerala, India. The value of the order is over half a million euros. The agreement highlights Lamor’s position as the global leader in oil spill response technology. 

The Vizhinjam port, designed with advanced container handling technology, is poised to become a key player in international trade routes. It is India's first transshipment terminal and the largest deepwater port, located only ten nautical miles from a major international shipping route. Until now India has been dependent on Colombo, Dubai and Singapore ports for transshipment.  

With the heavy large ship traffic destined for the region, it is important to be prepared for any potential environmental incidents.

In practice, we are not only optimising oil spill response equipment and systems for the port but also providing tactics and strategies for the port in case of an oil spill.” 

The order will be entered into order backlog during the third quarter. The delivery, including booms, skimmers, personal protective gear and other related items, will be made within this year.
