As communicated in a press release yesterday, Lime's subsidiary SportAdmin's IT environment has been exposed to a data breach by an external attacker. Information has been leaked to the attacker and Lime chose to proactively shut down all SportAdmin services as a precautionary measure. Work to restore and secure the system is ongoing and the company is now hopeful to have some functionality in place for leaders and members within the next 24 hours.
The internal and external security teams have also made some progress in investigating the nature of the data leak. As there are suspicions that the attackers have obtained personal data, the necessary procedures and legal measures for personal data breaches will be put in place. All organisations will be contacted during the day for further guidance.
The teams have also managed to secure full backups and Lime expects that the services will be fully restored.
SportAdmin was acquired by Lime Technologies a year ago and accounts for about 10 per cent of the Lime Group's total turnover. The security incident only involves SportAdmin and no other systems or business units are affected. Lime takes the situation very seriously and the incident has been reported to the police.
