Asker, Norway, 16 February 2024
Grønn Vekst, part of Cambi's Solutions segment, has been awarded one of Norway's
largest contracts for handling biosolids for Vestfjorden Avløpsselskap (Veas).
Following standard Norwegian public procurement procedures, the contract is
expected to be signed after a notice period expiring on 27 February 2024
(Norwegian 'karenstid').
The new contract has an estimated value of NOK 15-20 million per year. Its firm
duration is 2 years, with two extension options of one year for a total duration
of up to 4 years. The estimated contract value, including options, is up to NOK
80 million.
In the tender, Grønn Vekst outcompeted four other suppliers, receiving maximum
scores for experience, capacity, preparedness, and environmental impact.
"Winning the largest biosolids tender in the Oslo area is a significant
achievement for Grønn Vekst. We look forward to a good collaboration with Veas
in the coming years", said Bernd Anders Keller, CEO Grønn Vekst.
Veas is Norway's largest wastewater treatment plant, serving more than 800,000
people equivalent from larger parts of Oslo, Asker and Bærum. Cambi won in 2023
a contract to deliver a thermal hydrolysis process (THP) system to Veas, with
operations scheduled to start in 2026. The synergy between Cambi's process and
Grønn Vekst's experience with biosolids-based soil products will strengthen
Veas' role in the local circular economy, contributing to a healthier Oslo
fjord.
The start date for Grønn Vekst's contract is set for 1 June 2024.
