Horisont Energi have contracted Haldor Topsoe to provide the White Book, meaning
the process design, for the ammonia plant in the Barents Blue project, using
their innovative SynCOR AmmoniaTM technology. SynCOR AmmoniaTM is Haldor Topsoe's
state of the art ammonia production technology based upon autothermal reforming.
Together with Haldor Topsoe the basis for a market leading ammonia plant in
Finnmark both with respect to energy efficiency and carbon footprint will be
developed. Through the selection of Haldor Topsoe the project will get an
experienced ammonia technology licensor that will follow the project into the
operations and all the way to the end of plant life. The Barents Blue project is
the first large scale greenfield blue ammonia plant in Europe.
