Inify Laboratories: Gains traction in the UK - growing NHS interest and data confirming exceptional diagnostic quality

2026-10-28 08:00:16
STOCKHOLM - October 28, 2026 - Inify Laboratories, a unique laboratory service
that provides diagnostics within pathology, is now delivering its services to
University Hospital Plymouth NHS Trust (UHP) on a regular basis. The agreement
has attracted attention in the UK market and contributed to a clear increase in
interest from hospitals across the country. At the same time, new data covering
nearly 2,000 patient cases confirm the exceptional quality of Inify's
diagnostics.

During the third quarter, the establishment team handed over operations to
Inify's local laboratory team. Feedback from the diagnosticians at UHP working
in Inify's system has been very positive, which lays the foundation for
increasing Inify's share of the hospital's total sample volume, in line with the
agreed evaluation plan.

"The agreement with UHP has drawn attention in the UK. It has advanced our
existing dialogues and created new opportunities with hospitals in several
regions. Most hospitals face significant challenges in meeting the requirements
for effective pathways for patients investigated for prostate cancer, and our
end-to-end solution is designed to solve exactly that - in close collaboration
with each hospital," says Fredrik Palm, CEO of Inify.

Entering into evaluation agreements within the NHS is a complex process
involving many stakeholders, as well as funding from regional organisations such
as Cancer Alliances. After a successful evaluation, Inify's goal is to move on
to a traditional procurement of the company's services.

Data confirm exceptional diagnostic quality

At the European pathology congress in Stockholm, Inify presented several
research reports. In one of these, external pathologists reviewed nearly 2,000
patient cases previously diagnosed by Inify. Minor changes were made in only 3.6
percent of the cases, and none were considered to warrant a change to a possible
treatment decision. In published studies, deviations on pathological follow-up
have been reported in the range of 20-40 percent, although the extent and
clinical significance vary.

"These results are extreme and testify to an exceptionally high diagnostic
quality. For hospitals choosing a partner in pathology, documented quality is
crucial," says Palm.

AI research with Karolinska Institute

As part of an ongoing research project with Karolinska Institute, data were
presented where AI algorithms were used to study the relationship between a
specific tumour growth pattern and patient outcomes in historical data. The
results indicate that this growth pattern may be an important marker for
aggressive disease.

"This is a typical example of how we can contribute to the development of cancer
care. Identifying markers for aggressive disease can ultimately help clinicians
make better treatment decisions for each patient," says Palm.

Saving two working weeks for urologists

A recent upgrade of Inify's in-house developed system added several new
features, including support for clinicians' reporting to national cancer
registries. This feature alone can save approximately ten minutes per patient
for the urologist - equivalent to two full working weeks per year for a
urologist handling 500 cancer patients annually.

"Healthcare faces a growing shortage of trained personnel, and our services are
designed to meet exactly that challenge. We are driving a paradigm shift, which
requires perseverance. My optimism about Inify's future grows stronger as we
become increasingly established in the market," says Palm.
