5 May 2023 - Rail Production AS, a subsidiary of Nordic Infrastructure Group,
has been awarded a contract worth NOK 30.7 million to replace track ballast on
the Gjøvik Line (Norwegian: Gjøvikbanen).

Rail Production AS will deliver the project as a subcontractor to Infranord AS.
The work will be performed during the autumn of 2023.

The scope of work includes a total track rehabilitation on the Gjøvik Line.
Infranord will perform the track replacement, while Rail Production AS and its
cooperation partner Salcef Group will conduct ballast replacement. 

Track ballast is the material which forms the trackbed upon which railroad ties
are laid. It is packed between, below, and around the railway sleepers. It is
used to bear the compression load of the railroad ties, rails, and rolling
stock
