Oslo, 7 February 2024 - Norwegian biometrics company NEXT Biometrics enters a
new and very large business area in China. NEXT has signed a strategic
partnership with a Beijing-based company (the Partner) in the healthcare and
medical insurance market. The Partner has a dominating position in these
markets, and the aim is to make NEXTŽs technology a preferred solution and
industry standard in applicable markets. NEXT expects to start delivering
sensors to this partner to this partner during the second half of 2024.

Biometric verification is a requirement in large parts of the healthcare sector.
One example is machines issuing healthcare cards to the entire Chinese
population, where enrollment, issuance, and the payment process require a
biometric solution. The Partner will promote NEXT live-finger verification
technology as a preferred solution and potential industry standard to relevant
regulatory parties in China.

The Partner has its offspring in the Ministry of Healthcare and has become a
dominating biometrics solution provider in the Chinese healthcare and medical
care business. The Partner possesses a core technical team from IBM, has a broad
sales network across more than 20 provinces, and with its own algorithm it
provides biometric solutions for major healthcare bureaus and OEMs in China. It
also has a strong position as a cooperation partner to OEMs in medical insurance
devices and healthcare terminals. 

NEXT recently announced its flagship sensor FAP20 had received the prestigious
China ID certification. In the future, NEXT will also work with this new
Beijing-based Partner to further explore market opportunities in the China ID
market.
