- Dr Jiráková Trnková brings more than 20 years of clinical development
experience from Bayer, BioNTech, and Highlight Therapeutics, with expertise
spanning global pivotal Phase 3 trials and alpha-emitting radiopharmaceuticals
Oslo, Norway - 28 October 2026 - Oncoinvent ASA (OSE: ONCIN), a clinical-stage
radiopharmaceutical company developing Radspherin[®], a receptor-independent
alpha-emitting therapy to eradicate cancer cells in the abdominal cavity after
surgery with a single, targeted dose, today announced the appointment of Zuzana
Jiráková Trnková, MD, PhD, as Chief Medical Officer, effective November 4, 2026.
Dr Jiráková Trnková succeeds Kari Myren, who will leave Oncoinvent to pursue a
new opportunity outside drug discovery.
Dr Jiráková Trnková is a physician-scientist with more than 20 years of clinical
development experience, primarily in oncology, covering first-in-human studies
to pivotal Phase 3 trials and regulatory approval. She has expertise in alpha
-emitting radiopharmaceuticals and has held senior leadership roles at Bayer,
BioNTech and Highlight Therapeutics, most recently as Chief Medical Officer at
Highlight, where she was responsible for clinical development, medical and
regulatory strategy, and patient safety.
At Bayer, where she spent 13 years, she led global radiology clinical
development and medical affairs, overseeing more than 100 people, and headed
oncology clinical pharmacology, including radium-223 (Xofigo[®]) and targeted
thorium conjugates. She also led two pivotal Phase 3 trials supporting the
approval of Gadovist[®] for breast cancer detection.
At BioNTech, she served as Vice President of Clinical Research and Development,
leading clinical development, operations and regulatory strategy across immuno
-oncology, rare diseases, and infectious diseases, while building the company's
clinical development organization and contributing to collaborations with major
pharmaceutical partners.
She began her career in academia as a resident physician in internal medicine
and hemato-oncology. Dr Jiráková Trnková holds an MD in general medicine and a
PhD in immunology and molecular biology from Charles University in Prague.
"I am very pleased to welcome Zuzana to Oncoinvent. Her experience leading
global pivotal Phase 3 trials through to approval, together with her work with
alpha-emitting radiopharmaceuticals, will be highly valuable as we prepare
Radspherin[®] for Phase 3 development. I would also like to thank Kari for her
important contribution to Oncoinvent, including taking Radspherin[®] into the
randomized Phase 2 trial in ovarian cancer, and wish her every success for the
future," said Oystein Soug, Chief Executive Officer of Oncoinvent.
"Radspherin[®] offers a distinctive approach to treating peritoneal disease,"
commented Zuzana Jiráková Trnková, incoming Chief Medical Officer of Oncoinvent.
"I look forward to bringing my experience in oncology, late-stage clinical
development and radiopharmaceuticals to the team, and to working closely with
investigators and regulators as we prepare Radspherin[®] for Phase 3 development
to bring this potential new treatment closer to patients."

About Oncoinvent
Oncoinvent is developing Radspherin[®], a receptor-independent alpha radiation
therapy that leverages the unique anatomy of the abdominal cavity to destroy
residual micrometastases using a single, highly localized dose of alpha
radiation. The initial clinical focus is treatment of ovarian and colorectal
cancer patients after surgical removal of the primary tumor and visible
metastases in the peritoneum, the thin membrane lining the abdominal cavity and
covering the abdominal organs.
This radiopharmaceutical is designed to prevent or delay recurrence in the
peritoneal cavity, keeping patients disease-free for longer than the current
standard of care and thereby also impacting overall survival. It is broadly
applicable to any cancer that spreads to the peritoneum, e.g. ovarian,
colorectal, and gastric cancers. Radspherin[®] stands out for its simplicity,
excellent safety profile, and seamless integration into existing surgical
workflows. Oncoinvent's product is easy to use, avoids systemic delivery and
significant toxicity. It is also differentiated in being simple to manufacture,
scalable, and supply de-risked.
Data from two trials in ovarian (phase 1) and colorectal (phase 1/2a) cancers
are highly promising, showing an excellent safety profile and meaningful signals
of efficacy. Interim data from an ongoing, randomized, controlled phase 2
ovarian cancer trial is expected in 2H2026 (safety) and 1H2027 (early efficacy).
With cost-effective manufacturing, blockbuster potential, active pharma
partnership momentum, plus strong endorsements from leading experts, Oncoinvent
is built for scale and commercial success, and is set to become the new standard
for post-surgical cancer care. The Company was founded by the originators of
Algeta and Xofigo (acquired by Bayer).
About Radspherin[®]
Radspherin[®] is an investigational radiopharmaceutical designed for the local
treatment of cancer that has spread to body cavities. It consists of billions of
calcium carbonate microparticles containing the radioactive material radium-224.
The mode of action is the decay of radium-224 emitting alpha-particles, a highly
potent form of ionizing radiation. Radspherin[®] is being investigated in
clinical studies to treat peritoneal carcinomatoses from ovarian and colorectal
cancer and it is administered intraperitoneally following surgical resection
with removal of all macroscopic disease.
