SBNOR: Final decision on institution-specific Pillar 2 requirement
2026-11-05 15:49:52
In a letter dated 5 November 2026, the Financial Supervisory Authority of Norway
(Finanstilsynet) notified Sparebanken Norge of its decision on the total Pillar
2 capital requirement and Pillar 2 Guidance, following Finanstilsynet's updated
assessment of the bank's risk and capital needs ("SREP"). The decision takes
effect on 31 December 2026.
The Pillar 2 requirement and Pillar 2 Guidance are in addition to the capital
requirements under Pillar 1. Finanstilsynet's assessment is that the bank's
total Pillar 2 capital requirement amounts to 1.4 per cent of the Pillar 1 risk
exposure amount, down from the current requirement of 1.6 per cent. At least
56.25 per cent of the requirement must be met with Common Equity Tier 1 capital
and at least 75 per cent with Tier 1 capital.
Finanstilsynet expects the institution to maintain a Pillar 2 Guidance of at
least 1.0 per cent of the Pillar 1 risk exposure amount, unchanged from the
current Pillar 2 Guidance. The Pillar 2 Guidance must be met with Common Equity
Tier 1 capital.
The capital adequacy target will be updated in line with the new decision.
