Veidekke: To build Sætre School in Asker

Asker municipality has signed a contract with Veidekke for the construction of
the new Sætre primary school, including a sports hall and a gymnastics hall. The
contract is a design and build contract valued at approximately NOK 370 million,
excluding VAT. The project has high environmental ambitions.
"We are very proud and pleased to have won the competition to build the new
primary school in Sætre. Constructing high-quality school buildings is among the
most important work we do, and we particularly appreciate Asker municipality's
ambitious requirements for sustainability and climate in this project," says Gro
Brathovde, District Manager at Veidekke Bygg Buskerud.
The new school is designed for 550 pupils and will comprise approximately 11,000
square metres. The project will be Nordic Swan Ecolabelled and meet the
FutureBuilt criteria for nearly zero-energy buildings and circular construction.
In addition, the project has very ambitious targets for greenhouse gas
reductions, material use and waste reduction. The project also includes
extensive upgrading of outdoor areas, including the schoolyard, roads and public
spaces.

Demolition and groundwork are already underway, while Veidekke's construction
works are scheduled to start in November with completion planned for summer
2028.
The contract will be included in Veidekke's order backlog for the second quarter
of 2026.
