Veidekke has won the competition to build the new Skram primary school in Måløy.
The assignment for Kinn municipality is a a turnkey contract worth NOK 191
million excluding VAT.

confidence shown in us. Building good schools is one of the most important
things we can do, and I am sure that the new Skram school will be a great joy
for students, teachers and other users. Kinn municipality sets clear
requirements for climate, environment and energy, which we greatly appreciate,"
says district manager Ole Petter Henden in Veidekke Bygg Sogn og Fjordane.

The new school is designed for 250 pupils from first to seventh grade with
nearly 30 employees. It is built according to the passive house standard with at
least a 10% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions compared to the reference
level. The school will have a traditional two-parallel classroom division with a
total area of 5,000 m² over three floors. In the basement, there will be a
gymnasium with changing rooms that can function separately outside school hours
and meet the requirements for sports funding. The development of outdoor areas
is also included in the contract.

"We are very pleased that an important milestone in the project has now been
passed. The demolition work has started and is progressing well. We are
therefore also pleased that we can soon start building a new and modern school
in Måløy. The new school will make an important contribution so that the
municipality can offer both employees and pupils good facilities with a modern
pedagogical learning area," says municipal director Øyvind Bang-Olsen in Kinn
municipality.

The current school is being demolished these days, and the new one will be built
on the same site in the center of Måløy. Construction is planned to start in the
summer with completion by the start of the school year in 2027.

The contract is included in Veidekke's order backlog for the first quarter.
