The family-owned business group Ernströmgruppen is bringing in external shareholders to broaden the expertise at owner level ahead of the next growth phase. The new shareholders will include Erik Selin and Per Josefsson.

Ernströmgruppen aims to accelerate the pace of growth and double its revenue within five years, partly by pursuing an active acquisition agenda. To strengthen the company's position, a number of selected individuals who sit on executive boards of companies within Ernströmgruppen and its parent company Ernström & Co have been offered the opportunity to take a stake in the business.

”Running a company is difficult, but surrounding yourself with capable people who have sound values and expertise makes the task easier. We have the great advantage of having extremely capable people in our companies, who have helped us to get where we are today. To take the next steps towards even greater heights, we now want to bring in outside expertise at ownership level. Although Ernströmgruppen is and will remain a family business, we are confident that greater expertise and professionalism will make Ernströmgruppen a more relevant company, both today and for future generations,” says Fabian Hielte, chairman of Ernström & Co.

The selected individuals include Erik Selin, CEO and a major shareholder of the property company Balder and a long-standing member of the Ernström & Co board.

”I share the family's view of entrepreneurship and how to develop companies, so I didn't hesitate when I was offered the opportunity to become a joint owner. Ernströmgruppen has great potential and I am looking forward to working as an owner with the family and the board to help Alexander and the management team unlock it,” says Erik Selin.

”Ernströmgruppen is currently in a stable position with an excellent foundation from which to grow. Continuing the company's success story and living up to the expectation of a company twice its size requires an increased pace of change and the right expertise. With new perspectives and experience at ownership level, things will be even better for our fantastic employees in the companies. We are ready to take the next step and to realise our full potential,” says Alexander Wennergren-Helm, CEO of Ernströmgruppen.
