On 4 March 2022, Eleda Infra Services Group (“Eleda”), a leading infrastructure services and civil engineering company with a regional presence throughout Sweden and approximately SEK 10 billion in sales, acquired all shares in Mats Wåhlin AB (“MWAB” or the “Company”). Going forward, MWAB will report to Järfälla VA- & Byggentreprenad AB (“JVAB”), a platform company within Eleda. MWAB’s principal owner, Mats Wåhlin, and a number of other key individuals at the Company will become shareholders in Eleda and will remain active in the Company.

Based in Stockholm, MWAB specialises in diving and underwater contracts in confined and contaminated environments. Its assignments are performed primarily for repeat public-sector customers, but MWAB also takes on projects as a subcontractor for private clients. The company has over 40 years of experience, with annual sales of approximately SEK 35 million.

“MWAB possesses unique expertise in diving contracts and underwater operations in environments with lengthy penetration routes, thereby strengthening Eleda’s and JVAB’s existing offering in infrastructure linked to water and wastewater systems. We have been following MWAB for some time and have also hired them on several occasions, with successful results. Continuing our journey together will be very exciting,” says Fredrick Kastevik, CEO of JVAB.

“We have been operating for over 40 years, and we have built an incredibly strong reputation in our industry during that time. Selling the company was a long process, but it feels like the right step for us now that it is done. Continuing to operate and develop the company in partnership with JVAB will be a truly exciting challenge,” says Mats Wåhlin, founder of MWAB.
