ONE Nordic and Kraftringen Energi are in agreement that ONE Nordic has the best conditions for running Kraftringen’s service operations efficiently over the long term. This conclusion factored in not only the service level for the operation’s customers, but also support for the company’s employees. ONE Nordic therefore acquired 30 percent of Kraftringen Service in Q2, with the option to acquire the remaining 70 percent by 2026 at the latest.
The Swedish energy grid owners – ONE Nordic’s customers – have major investments ahead of them while daily deliveries to the grid owners’ end customers are of the highest priority. Ensuring that contractors in the industry focus on their own areas of expertise as far as possible will make it easier to achieve both of these goals simultaneously. The ability to offer energy grid customers the best possible operation and maintenance services is what makes ONE Nordic unique. In ONE’s experience, offering professional operation and maintenance services is a provider’s most demanding task. Among other things, this requires:
Strong SLA-based deliveries, which in turn are built on robust system support, a customised organisation, support processes and procedures.
A skilled organisation in close proximity, with high levels of civil engineering know-how.
High IT system integration capacity for secure transfer of information and documentation.
An in-house academy able to train the next generation of project managers, drafters, engineers and lineworkers.
In terms of national efficiency, ONE naturally needs to take advantage of the investments that have been made and expand its operation and maintenance business.
A dialogue has been held in this regard with Kraftringen Energi, the owner of Kraftringen Service. This resulted in the mutual conclusion that ONE Nordic has the best conditions for running the operation efficiently over the long term. This conclusion factored in not only the service level for the operation’s customers, but also support for the company’s employees.
ONE Nordic will initially acquire 30 percent of Kraftringen Service, and will then have the option to acquire the remaining 70 percent by 1 January 2026 at the latest.
The transaction is conditional on approval by the Swedish Competition Authority. This approval will take several months, which means that the transaction is expected to be completed in Q2 2024.
