Tessin Nordic appoints new CEO Heidi Wik
“We set a target back in 2018 that Tessin would become a listed company based on our conviction that it will enhance our capacity to grow. Our future growth depends on three factors: accelerating our core business, increasing the depth and breadth of our offering and expanding our capacity to offer attractive investment opportunities to institutional investors”, says Håkan Nyberg, Chairman of the Board of Tessin. “The appointment of Heidi Wik is a key step towards reaching our set objectives and I am delighted that Heidi has chosen to join Tessin and wish her a warm welcome to the company”.
As previously announced, Tessin will be listed on NASDAQ First North in the first half of 2021 and the appointment of Heidi Wik as the new CEO will play a key part in assuring Tessin’s future growth. Wik’s experience working in a regulated environment and in sales, as well as her solid experience leading the development of business-focused technical solutions for banks, financial institutions and FinTech firms will be vital elements of Tessin’s continued growth journey. With the appointment of Heidi Wik, Tessin’s current CEO Jonas Björkman will take on the new role of Head of Business Development, creating opportunities to increase focus on institutional investors.
“Bringing Heidi on board is an important step in our work to build Tessin into a leading player in the FinTech sector. For me personally, it means that I can now concentrate on positioning Tessin and our platform as an interesting alternative for major professional investors and institutional capital”, says Jonas Björkman, CEO and co-founder of Tessin.
Immediately prior to joining Tessin, Heidi Wik was Director of Banking at FOREX Bank. She holds a master’s degree in economics from Åbo Akademi University. According to preliminary plans, Ms Wik will begin at Tessin in the spring of 2021.
